Dr. Osbert Ntinda Sikazwe

39 years, Zambian. Bachelor of Mineral Sciences (B.Sc.Min) from University of Zambia (1989), an MSc in Exploration and Mining Geology from Leicester University, UK (1992), a UN Certificate in Remote Sensing for Educators from University of Stockholm, Sweden (1997) and a PhD in Economic Geology from University of Vienna, Austria (2001).

Currently Head of the Geology Department and Lecturer in the School of Mines, University of Zambia.

18 years experience. includes Exploration Geologist with the Prescribed Minerals and Materials Commission working on a country wide uranium exploration project supported by IAEA and supervising a drilling project for coal (1989-1990); Lecturer in geology in the Geology Department, School of Mines, University of Zambia (since 1992); Assistant Dean (Undergraduate) in the School of Mines (1994-1997). He is also involved in a number of national research and consultancy projects, and has over 10 publications.

Environmental projects include Mining and Environment, Zambian Copperbelt as a case study funded by the Carl Duisberg Gesellschaft (CDG) of Germany; Village Orientation Mineral Exploration project supported by the Ministry of Mines; Control of Aquatic Weed in the Kafue River of Zambia funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), SANTREN Project member; SANTREN eLEARNING Project core-group member.
